Meet Our Medical Gym Director

Hello everyone! My name is Alex Bohnstedt and I could not be more excited to be a part of the ARC Team. We recently opened a Medical Gym to bridge the gap between fitness and medicine. I am an Illinois State University grad, with a degree in Exercise Science and I am a certified Exercise Physiologist through ACSM. Growing up I was a competitive gymnast, in which I instantly fell in love with the body’s ability for movement. Injuries then sparked my interest for corrective exercise and the mental side of physical activity. Having experience working with neuro, orthopedics, weight loss, and special populations- I am excited to continue helping individuals find their love for exercise. A healthy mind and body are a window into endless opportunity! – Alex Bohnstedt

Medical Memberships for Diabetes and Cardiac Fitness

Cardiac Fitness

Improve your blood pressure and overall health and fitness with an individualized plan specific to heart disease. Great for those transitioning out of cardiac rehab.

Personal Training

  • We offer a variety of personal training packages. Before starting any training, we require an initial in-depth assessment and consultation of body composition, endurance, strength, flexibility, and mobility. This foundation protects each individual as they start exercising, allowing us to address any orthoepic needs first. No bumps in the road! We then discuss psychological barriers using screening to ensure patients are successful in their fitness journey. From here we set realistic goals together.

Saturday Flow Yoga

  • Participants will build strength and flexibility as well as improve balance and mindfulness. You should be able to get up and down from floor. Great for those with no yoga experience or getting back to yoga after an absence or injury.

Strength Training for Women Group Training

  • 8-week progressive programming done in a small group setting on Wednesdays from 10-11 AM. This is a circuit-style class specifically designed for women wanting to build strength, endurance, and flexibility. Surround yourself with other women who have the same healthy lifestyle goals; and have fun while reaching those goals! We max these small group training sessions out at 6 members for safety. If you have a group of ladies wanting a different day and time, feel free to reach out and we will get started!
